Fundamental Software Test Processes

Below are the modern fundamental test processes and procedures which are summarized below.

Software Test Life Cycle:

1- Test Analysis and Planning

2-Test Design and Development

3-Test Execution

4-Validation and Verification

5-Test Closure

1-Test Analysis and Planning:

This is the earliest stage of the software test life cycle. Test Manager and Test Lead meets together and developing the test plan to achieve the main objectivity of product tests. This is the phase that creates the roadmap for testing to achieve the desired product o/p.

2-Test Design and Development:

TDD stage of software testing life cycle is meant for grouping the ideas and plans into valid documentation which are already done by the test planning stage. Documentation prepared in any format like MS Excel, MS Docx, etc. The prepared test design shared with all team members and these members are responsible for developing manual and automation script in the respective phase.

3-Test Execution:

In the test execution phase, QA team members executed developed test cases (Manual or Automation Scripts) with the various possible combinations of input test data including any pre and post-test conditions.

4-Validation and Verification:

This phase involves all the verifications and validations on developed test cases to test the product. Passed test cases are forwarded for the test closure activity otherwise assigned it to the respective development team members for fixing the raised issues.

5-Test Closure:

Test closure activities are done when the product is ready for delivery. At the end, the stage test manager summarized all the test results and send it to the client for verification.

Popular Software Development and Test Models

1-V-Model
2-Iterative Model

Below is the diagram for both the development models which are described above
