Levels Of Testing

Today I am going to discuss various test levels in Software Testing. The high -level agenda for this topic is given below.

1-What's Test Level

2-Types  Of Test Levels

3-Importance of Test Levels

1-What's Test Level:

As per my experience, Test Levels breaks the entire application into multiple modules(parts) which makes testing life cycle very convenient and less time-consuming. Basically, this is the process to test the whole application in multiple phases.

2-Types Of Test Levels:

Software Test Levels are divided into four broad categories which are described below.

1-Unit Testing:

This level process breaks the entire application in multiple modules which treats as a single unit, Testing in this kind of level is known as unit testing/module testing /component testing. For example Login module of an application, Search module of an application, etc.

2-Integration Testing:

This level of testing is done on integration time if the newly added module is added into the existing module. Integration can be two types.

Independent System Integration
Dependent System Integration
The independent system is in the sense if the modified changes are done into the same application and existing module.

And on the other hand dependent system involves integration with the third party Applications/Systems. For example Payment Gateway Integration, API Integration

3-System Testing:

This level of testing involves checking the full functionality of the entire application after the integration test level completed. This kind of test level verifies the integrated application meets a specified outcome or not.

4-Acceptance Testing:

This level of testing performs by the end-users (clients) after launching the application into the market. The main purpose of this test is to verify the application functionality acceptable by the clients or not. Acceptance Testing is also known as UAT (User Acceptance Testing).

Importance Of Test Levels:

The main advantages of test levels are

Increase Application Performance
Easy Maintenance
Less Time Consuming
Improve Response Time
Better Quality Service
